FAQ

What is dayLime?

dayLime is a camera app that stamps a D-day / goal-day counter onto a photo you take every day, so you can watch change unfold over time. Available on both iOS and Android.

How is D+N calculated?

It's counted automatically from your start date (D+) or toward a target date (D-), and stamped onto the photo the moment you press the shutter.

What is Ghost Mode?

Ghost Mode overlays yesterday's photo semi-transparently on the camera screen, so you can line up the same framing for today's shot.

When I share, is my photo shown as-is?

No — before sharing you can choose the original photo, a blurred version, or numbers only. You can turn a share link off at any time.

Can I import an existing photo from my gallery and add D+N to it?

No — right now D+N is only stamped on photos you take in the moment with the camera. It can't be applied to photos already in your gallery.

Is dayLime free? Are there ads or payments?

It's free to download and use. The first 2 slots are free forever, and a banner ad shows on the camera screen. Additional slots are available as a one-time in-app purchase, not a subscription.

Where are my photos and records stored?

Photos are stored on your device by default. Creating a share link stores only what is needed for that link on the server, and it goes away once you turn the link off.

I want to track my diet progress with photos. How do I start?

Create a slot and set a start date — every time you shoot, D+N is automatically stamped on the photo. If matching the same framing each day matters (like body-check photos), Ghost Mode overlays yesterday's photo semi-transparently so you can line up the same angle.

Is there a way to take a photo in the exact same pose and angle every day?

Turn on Ghost Mode and yesterday's photo appears semi-transparently over the camera screen, so you can line up the same framing before you shoot.

Can I show the days remaining until a target date on my photos?

Yes — set a target (deadline) date and the remaining days are automatically calculated as D- and stamped on the photo every time you shoot.

How can I document and track my daily workouts with photos?

Just take a photo each day — the day count is tracked automatically, so there's no need to count dates or write notes yourself.

I want to document my child or pet growing up, in the same framing every day.

Use Ghost Mode to overlay yesterday's photo and match the same pose and distance, while D+N automatically records which day you're on.

Can I track multiple things at once — like workouts and studying — in one app?

Yes — create multiple slots and track each one independently. The first 2 slots are free forever.

If I miss a day, does my record reset or do I have to start over?

No — D+N is calculated automatically from your start date, so skipping a day doesn't break the count. That said, the separate streak number shown on the stats screen does reset if you don't shoot that day.
