dayLime Privacy Policy
dayLime (the "App") values your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information in accordance with applicable laws. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect and how we process it.
1. Purpose of Personal Information Processing
The App processes personal information for the following purposes:
- Service Provision and Operation: Providing core features (D-Day management, photo capture)
- Service Improvement and Analysis: Analyzing usage patterns to improve features and stability
- Personalized Advertising: Delivering relevant advertising content based on user interests
- Customer Support: Handling inquiries and providing technical support
2. Personal Information Processing and Retention Period
⚠️ Important: Clear Information About Personally Identifiable Data
The only personally identifiable information collected by the App is:
- Advertising Identifiers: IDFA (iOS) or ADID (Android) - only with user consent
- IP Address: Used only for country/region identification (no precise location tracking)
❌ Information We DO NOT Collect:
- Names, emails, phone numbers, or other personal contact information
- Precise location information (GPS coordinates)
- Information about other apps on your device or personal files
- D-Day content or photos you create (these stay on your device only — except that one share card is stored on our server only when you explicitly use the "Share" feature; see 2.3)
All other collected information consists of anonymous data such as device specifications and app usage statistics that cannot identify you personally.
2.1 Local Data Storage (Device Only)
The following information is not transmitted externally and is stored only on your device:
- D-Day Information: Titles, dates, notes, and other content you enter
- Photo Data: Photos captured through the app
- App Settings: Your app configuration preferences
Retention Period: Until app deletion (immediately deleted when app is uninstalled)
2.2 Information Collected for Analytics and Advertising
Automatically Collected Information
- Device Information: Device model, operating system and version, screen resolution, hardware specifications
- App Usage Information: App version, package name, installation/update time, session duration, launch count
- Technical Information: Network type (Wi-Fi/cellular), language settings, time zone
- Location Information: Country/region based on IP address (not precise GPS location)
- Advertising Identifiers: IDFA (iOS)/ADID (Android) - only with user consent
Information Directly Collected by the App
- Usage Events: App launches, D-Day creation/modification, session duration
- User Properties: Days since app installation
- Error Information: App crashes and error reports
Retention Period: 2 years from collection date (advertising performance data up to 60 months)
2.3 Server-Stored Data When Using the Share Feature (Optional)
Only when you explicitly tap "Share" in the app, the following data is stored on our server to serve your share page. If you never use the share feature, none of this data ever leaves your device.
- Share card image: one stats card generated at share time (respecting the privacy level you selected)
- Statistics: anonymous figures such as streak length, total photo count, and fill rate
- Anonymous token: a random identifier issued on your device — it is never linked to your name, email, or any real identity, so it cannot identify you personally
Visibility and retention: a share link is publicly viewable for only 20 minutes after creation, then expires automatically. You can revoke (unpublish) a link at any time in the app, and if you share again after revoking, the old URL is permanently invalidated and a new one is issued. The share card image is automatically deleted from our server within 24 hours after the link expires; the remaining statistics are kept only in a form that cannot identify you.
3. Third-Party Sharing of Personal Information
The App shares personal information with third parties as follows:
3.1 Google LLC (Firebase Analytics, AdMob)
- Purpose: App usage analysis, advertising services, ad performance measurement
- Information Shared: Device information, app usage data, advertising identifiers, location information (country/region)
- Retention Period: According to Google's Privacy Policy
3.2 Advertising Partners
- Purpose: Personalized advertising delivery and performance measurement
- Information Shared: Advertising identifiers, ad interaction data
- Sharing Method: Anonymized information through SKAdNetwork
4. Personal Information Processing Delegation
The App delegates personal information processing tasks as follows:

5. Data Subject Rights and Exercise Methods
Users can exercise the following rights:
5.1 Opt-out of Ad Personalization
- iOS: Settings > Privacy & Security > Apple Advertising > Turn off Personalized Ads
- Android: Settings > Google > Ads > Opt out of Ads Personalization
5.2 Reset Advertising Identifier
- iOS: Settings > Privacy & Security > Apple Advertising > Reset Advertising Identifier
- Android: Settings > Google > Ads > Reset Advertising ID
5.3 Data Deletion Request
If you wish to delete your personal information, please contact us using the information below, and we will process your request promptly.
Deleting share data (2.3): please include the full share link URL in your request (you can view and copy it in the app's share screen; revoking the link in the app also unpublishes it immediately). Because share data is anonymous by design and never linked to your name or email, we cannot locate your data without the link URL.
6. Measures to Ensure Personal Information Security
The App implements the following measures to ensure the security of personal information:
- Encryption: Use of encrypted communication (HTTPS/TLS) for personal information transmission
- Access Control: Restriction and management of access rights to personal information processing systems
- Regular Monitoring: Regular inspection of personal information processing status and security state
7. Installation and Operation of Automatic Personal Information Collection Devices
The App operates the following devices that store and retrieve user information:
- Local Storage: Storage of app settings and D-Day data
- Analytics Tools: Usage pattern analysis through Firebase Analytics
- Ad Tracking: Ad performance measurement through AdMob
Users can refuse such information collection through device settings, but this may limit the use of some services.
8. App Permissions Guide
The App uses the following device access permissions:
Required Permissions
- Camera: Photo capture functionality
- Storage: Saving captured photos to device
Optional Permissions
- Location: Ad optimization (country/region level, only if user chooses)
The App does not use permissions for purposes other than those specified, and users can change permissions in device settings at any time.
9. Changes to Privacy Policy
When additions, deletions, or modifications are made to this Privacy Policy due to changes in laws, policies, or security technologies, we will announce the changes through the app 7 days before the effective date.
